My Day

Wow, it's been a long day for me.....some days the day just seems to drag on and on. First I went to the store, made two pans of chicken enchiladas, made cookies, dusted everything, cleaned the bathroom and I just finished mopping the floor. Oh, and I kept up with "the two girls", played in the sand (one of the nice advantages of living near a golf course...you get a nice big sand area next to every green!), threw bread to the chickens (do chickens get constipated? Cause the girls and I threw a bunch of french bread to them!), gave baths and then put them (the girls, not the chickens) to bed. Those are just the main things too....there was also countless diaper changing episodes and spankings; Bethany seems to be going through the trying 2's a little early. I didn't even have the help of Jacob this evening since he was on a day fishing trip, but they do have a cooler full of fish that he says weighs 50-60 pounds! Lots of fish to freeze and eat....yummy! :)
So, yes it's been a long day, but I still need to paint my toenails....some things are just that important, you know. Sometimes with kids you get so busy keeping up with them that you don't get to do anything for yourself and maybe painting your toenails isn't that much, but it's something and sometimes you just need that little something. :) Actually, what made me feel really good today was registering for the 38th annual Hospital Hill Run! Yep, I'm going to do it again, hills and all, and I'm going to work on being faster and more prepared for those hills because they're killers if you're not trained enough! I'm pretty stoked, if you can't tell and I'm all ready to start training! I feel like this will be a better race for me because I have a year of running down; so, instead of starting from nothing to running the race in 3-1/2 months, I'll be able to focus on speed and stuff and not just trying to get the miles out of the way. I never knew I would be this excited about running 13.1 miles, but it's rather addicting and I can think of far worse things to be addicted to than running!
